Diemitech
For high temperature tooling, die casting, and extrusion dies, Diemitech™
is a superior tungsten-based material. It has a higher tungsten content than similarly available materials, giving it superior refractory properties resulting in greater resistance to erosion. Diemitech maintains good thermal conductivity and physical properties at high working temperatures.
Why use Diemitech?
- Its thermal conductivity is 3-4 times that of steel, so tools run much cooler
- Its thermal expansion is one third that of steel
- It withstands thermal shock
- It requires no heat treatments
- All of which results in less production downtime!
Diemitech gives good value because it has excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. It also:
- Resists erosion and scaling
- Minimizes soldering and heat checking
- Is machinable, similar to gray cast iron
No costly heat treatment is required—tools and goods can be placed into service as machined. Diemitech maintains superior physical properties compared to steel at high working temperatures.
Diemitech is readily available. Most commonly used diameters are in stock. All diameters are centerless ground or lathe-turned finishes. Rectangles and squares are Rough Oversize To Finish (ROTF), or machined as required.
Availability: Diameters are stocked in 8" and 12" lengths. Other shapes and forms can be manufactured to specification.
